Interlux chair literally lights up the room.
Reminiscent of American minimalist artist Dan Flavin’s fluorescent light sculptures, this unique chair literally lights up the room. Manfred Kielnhofer plays with fluorescent light and transparent tubes that change colour creating an out of this world atmosphere. The chair is a composition of unique long neon lighting contained in transparent tubes placed horizontally; a surprise of what one can do with commercially available fluorescent light fixtures. Also available in environmentally friendly paper tubes.

The Time Guards.

With his timeless installations “guards of time“, the thoughtful and

versatile media and light artist Manfred Kielnhofer shows that since

the beginning of time mankind has had protectors, both for historic

and mystical reasons. It only seems that man himself is a potential

source of danger for his own existence. In his works of art Kielnhofer

deals with and looks into the natural human desire for feeling secure.

Thus his oeuvre reflects genuine exploration, consideration and

discussion of current as well as historic moods and sensibilities of

his social environment. His works of art captivate with elaborate

combinations of light and different materials.



Die zeitlichen Wächter

Der umsichtige und vielseitige Medien- und Lichtkünstler Manfred

Kielnhofer bestätigt mit seinen zeitlosen Installationen „Die Wächter

der Zeit“, dass die Menschheit seit jeher aus historischen und

mystischen Gründen Beschützer hat. Nur sind die Menschen manchmal die

größte Gefahr für sich. Kielnhofer fasst dieses Vorlange nach

Geborgenheit in jeder Phase gut auf und zeigt durch seine Werke sehr

viel Verständnis für die aktuellen, wie historischen Befindlichkeiten

seiner Umgebung. Mit gekonnten Licht- und unterschiedlichen

Materialkombinationen bestechen seine Arbeiten.

Northern Europe largest annual art exhib

Northern Europe largest annual art exhibition / Nordeuropas größte Kunstausstellung

 

The first NordArt took place in 1999, since then it has established itself as Northern Europe’s largest annual art exhibition. The NordArt is a work of art in its own right and is designed as such each year. More than 200 international artists, selected by a jury, present a comprehensive panorama of contemporary art. Each individual work not only speaks for itself but also creates new perspectives when seen juxtaposed against the unique backdrop offered by the Carlshütte and the adjacent historical sculpture park. NordArt is accompanied by concerts, readings, film presentations and other cultural events.
Exhibition area: 22,000 square metres in the former Carlshütte foundry; 400 sqm in the ACO Wagenremise coach house; 80,000 sqm historical park and links with public places in the town of Büdelsdorf.
